[Announcement] Important tax changes for Google Play developers in Tanzania

Be aware of July 1, 2024 tax changes

View it online SERVICE UPDATE Hello NYANGO, Beginning on July 1, 2024, we will charge 18% Value Added Tax (VAT) on the service fee if you are located in Tanzania but haven't provided your Tanzania VAT ID to Google. This change won't apply to you if you are not located in Tanzania or you have provided your Tanzania VAT ID to Google. In addition to the VAT ID, you can also provide your TIN (tax ID number). Once updated, both VAT and TIN details will appear on your Google invoices. Your tax status determines the taxes you're charged in Tanzania. Here's how you can provide Google with your Tanzania tax information: 1. Open Play Console and go to the Payments profile page. 2. In the "Settings" section, click Manage settings. 3. Scroll down to "Tanzania tax info" and click the pencil icon . 4. Enter your Tanzania VAT ID and Tanzania TIN. 5. Click Save. For more information on tax rates, please visit the Help Center.
